Welcome to project KINDLE!Project Kindle has been providing cost free services to children, adolescents, and families since 1999. A 501(c) 3 nonprofit, serving those with chronic illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges, began as Camp Kindle, with a week long free summer camp for those infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Since 2004, the organization has expanded its services to offer multiple camping sessions and year round support, a peer led speakers bureau, a continued education scholarship fund, as well as and education and outreach programs.
Kindle Ranch is the organizations sister program (www.kindleranch.org), a network of nonprofits providing camp programs for those with various life challenges. Kindle Ranch offers a day camp program in addition to fundraising through a capital campaign to build a state-of-the-art, fully-accessible camp facility. The facility, which will be located North of Los Angles, CA, will provide year-round camp programs through a fully-accessible campsite made available to a collaborative network of nonprofit organizations serving children with special physical, medical, emotional, or socioeconomic challenges. All partners will have a long-standing option to utilize a turn-key destination that has been designed to eliminate many of the obstacles that often arise with program implementation, ensuring that their participants’ unique needs are met.
Today Project Kindle touches the lives of over 15,000 children, young adults and families each year. These services currently reach young people all across the country.
PAC at UCLA benefiting Kindle
Project Kindle is proud to be one of the beneficiaries of Pediatric AIDS Coalition's (PAC) Dance Marathon 2012. In 2011, the event raised $56,000 dollars for our cause. What an AMAZING event! Kindle has been involved with PAC at UCLA since 2006. Thank you to all who plan, donate and dance!Camp Kindle Camper and Staff Registration will open in Jan of 2012
